Cleaning of Wire Cloth Facades

Time and again we are asked how wire cloth facades need to be cleaned and maintained. In most cases, the answer is simple and clear: Regular dirt is cleaned off the facade by rain. A special cleaning is not required. The wire cloth facade is maintenance free. This is one of the main criteria why many of our customers choose a wire cloth facade - of course besides the decorative value. At the Public Clinic in Brandenburg, Germany our customer has made his own experience with a Haver & Boecker facade:

"The wire cloth facade from Haver & Boecker was installed early 2003. It proved to be really carefree and low maintenance. All the dirt was washed away by rain. Therefore the facade still looks like during the first months. A cleaning from our side has not been necessary so far."

If in a single instance the rain does not wash off the facade properly, power washers can be used. The distance to the wire cloth facade should be at least 30 cm. Only very serious dirt needs to be cleaned with a special stainless steel cleaner. This needs to be reviewed with the supplier on a case-to-case basis. Dry dirt can be wiped off with lint-free towels.
