Bank Dijon, France

August 22nd, 2005
Haver & Boecker installs CHESS-Wire Cloth in France.
The main topic of our August 2005 Newsletter is flat wire cloth with all it's variations and weaving possibilities. New ideas from architects also led to the development of new version of CHESS 6013.
At the moment a facade for a bank in Dijon, France is being equipped with a new CHESS version, which has larger chess field and heavier wire diameters in comparison to the original specification.
The "Le Belem" is a large french ship and at the same time the symbol of the bank. The building is constructed to match it's look: The declining building for example is the bow of the ship. The optical task of the wire cloth facade on the other side is to look like sails of other passing boats. Herefor the facade elements are partially lacquered and become the main eye catcher of this project.
The main photo shows a computer animation of the project. The photos on the right were taken during the installation of the first elements.
